Deidre Rodman: Vocal Arranger/Producer
More recently, I produced/arranged vocals on a session for Lindsay Sullivan's new record Long Road Home. The song is "Christine", which can be found on Lindsay's MySpace page.
THE LASCIVIOUS BIDDIESIla Cantor, guitar/vocals
Deidre Rodman, piano/melodica/vocals
Lee Ann Westover, lead vocals
Saskia Sunshine Lane, bass/vocals
Cute gals playing original music in the "cocktail pop" genre. What does that mean? It means lots of harmonies, original tunes, unconventional arrangements of standards-to-be, Biddy Buddies, and a hell of a lot of fun. Weve been featured on CBS News, in a Chili's commercial, and on Cash Cab, among other things. The Biddies' 3 albums, Biddi-luxe!, Get Lucky, and Love You Mean It, plus their live DVD, are available at the Biddies' website or at CDbaby.com.
Twin Falls
Twin Falls is my duo record for Sunnyside with jazz bassist Steve Swallow. Doing a duo record was a bit scary because it's very exposing, but Steve made it easy.
THE DEIDRE RODMAN QUINTET
Tony Malaby, tenor/soprano sax
Russ Johnson, trumpet
Bob Bowen, bass
Mark Ferber, drums
This jazz quintet was together for several years. Although we're not currently gigging, I'm hoping to create a podcast which features live tracks from past tours. We've done two records together. The first one, Sun is Us, also showcases Loren Stillman on alto sax and Ari Hoenig on drums. Our second album, Simple Stories, features Luciana Souza (and the Neighborhood School children's choir!) on vocals.
ROY NATHANSON'S
FIRE AT KEATON'S BAR AND GRILL
This project was the brainchild of Roy Nathanson. In short, it's a theme concert/album (out on Six Degrees Records) involving a fire at everybody's favorite bar and grill. The cast is large: Debbie Harry plays the bartender, Elvis Costello is the narrator, Nancy King is the bar wise woman, etc. We played several live versions of the show in New York and Europe. The project is really cool and I'm proud to have been a part of it.

DARIUS DEHAAS
SINGS THE MUSIC OF BILLY STRAYHORN
Darius is an amazing singer who is extremely committed to bringing the vocal music of Billy Strayhorn to the public. We debuted this show in 2000 at the Stanley Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center to packed houses and excellent reviews, and followed with successful shows at Arci's Place and Joe's Pub. I was the musical director as well as the pianist for this project and was both honored and humbled by the experience. Our album, Daydream, is available on PS Classics. (It won the 2002 Bistro Award for Recording of the Year)
